Scintillae Podcast is a weekly chat with Alisha Ahmed and Raven Gough!
We are a couple of activist (witches) wives who’ve been together since 2014 and navigate life from the margins.
We have the ambition of being the middle point between super clever podcasts like “Cracked Ivory” (by Talia Bhatt and Dolphin Diaries ) and the bizarre entertainment of “Before We Break Up Again” (by Jessie Cave and Alfie Brown) which we still have to figure out if it’s our guilty pleasure or if it’s a car crash we can’t look away from, either way, we spend way too much time with them, and yet…
In this first episode you get to know us beyond our digital imprint here and on Youtube as Activist Witch and our previous incarnations, our dynamics as a couple, our basic belief system and how we try to fit within our very sceptical minds. Lots of background information about the humans behind the content. You can basically come and sit with us in our living room with a cup of tea. This podcast aims to cover a wider range than we have been able to in our work under Activist Witch on youtube which focuses on the intersection of witchcraft as rebellion and activism.
Mostly because, on a very personal and selfish level (of Alisha) we wish to eventually invite people who might not have anything to do with witchcraft to hear what they learnt about the meaning of life! Wouldn’t that be nice?
Why Scintillae? We were about to settle onto “cheaper than therapy” and “the meaning of life” when we circled back to the word Scintillae, which is the Latin/Italian word for sparks, and something we identify with the little nuggets of understanding and knowledge about the world whose collection grows our understanding of life. And hopefully by sharing our understanding we save you time and work and we can all focus on breaking down the system, brick by brick.
And as always, let’s hex the patriarchy together.
